MADISON, WI – The Gordon J. Flesch Scholarship Program is pleased to announce the awarding of 20 scholarships to the dependent children of company employees for 2025. Established in 1995 and named in honor of company founder Gordon Flesch, the program has proudly supported the educational goals of associates’ families for three decades. To date, more than $1.9 million in scholarships has been distributed, reflecting the company’s ongoing commitment to investing in the future of its extended community.
Scholarship America, a third-party organization, administers the Gordon J. Flesch Scholarship Program. Scholarship America reviews submitted applications and selects winners solely based on the merits of each application.
This scholarship program is designed for the children of Gordon Flesch Company (GFC) employees who have been with GFC for at least one year. Children of employees must be registered to attend an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school (undergraduate only). All applicants are evaluated on their academic performance and non-academic activities such as organizational involvement and leadership roles.
Twenty recipients were selected for awards in 2025. “Honoring the legacy of Gordon Flesch, our founder and my grandfather, this scholarship program continues to support talented students who are committed to furthering their education,” says Patrick Flesch, President and CEO of GFC.
According to the parameters set by the program, up to twenty $4,000 scholarships are awarded each year. Awards are not renewable; however students are allowed to reapply each year that they meet program eligibility requirements. Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, a statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances and an outside appraisal. Financial need is not considered.
