FAMILY-OWNED BOTTLER GAINS  EFFICIENCY WITH MANAGED PRINT SERVICES

G&J Pepsi is the largest, independent Pepsi bottler in the nation. They produce, sell and distribute  30+ beverage brands and 650+ products in Ohio and Kentucky. This third generation, family-owned business employs over 1,900 workers.

THE CHALLENGE

G&J Pepsi had printers at all of their 13 facilities. However, most of  these printers were small, single-user  desktop printers in a variety  of makes and models. In addition, their IT team was not located at all of their buildings on a daily basis.  G&J Pepsi needed a print fleet that  could better serve their evolving needs and include just-in-time (JIT) toner delivery.

THE SOLUTION

The company turned to Gordon Flesch Company (GFC), who  recommended a connected, shared print fleet solution with JIT toner  delivery directly to the building where  the print device needing toner is  located. GFC installed the print fleet throughout G&J Pepsi’s locations in  Ohio and Kentucky. Afterwards, the  GFC team conducted training sessions tailored for each group of business  users. This also included training at least one person at each facility in how to install a new toner cartridge into their devices.

THE RESULT

With GFC’s Managed Print Services,  G&J Pepsi’s IT team spends much  less time dealing with printer hassles  and toner cartridges. If a problem occurs, any staff member can find the GFC sticker on the front of the  device to get the device ID and  GFC’s contact info for service or toner replacement. GFC’s expertise  in printing device repairs and quick  access to repair parts, gets devices  back online, in a jiffy!

In addition, the G&J Pepsi IT team  enjoys having analyzed print data  available. “Being able to see the average cost per page for each  device has helped us make periodic  print fleet adjustments for better budget management,” says Trevor Miller, Digital Technology Support and Infrastructure Manager.
