Bill is the Chief Development Officer at GFC and the son of founder Gordon Flesch who understood businesses could only thrive if the communities that surround them were also thriving. On April 22nd, 2026, the Enchanted Backpack arrived at Wegner Elementary School in West Chicago, IL, delivering a year’s worth of brand-new school supplies for every student, plus books, art and athletic equipment, winter coats and much more. “Education has always been at the heart of our family,” said Bill Flesch, Chief Development Officer at Gordon Flesch Company. “When students have access to the right tools, they gain confidence, creativity and the opportunity to thrive. We’re proud to support Enchanted Backpack and help ensure all children at Wegner Elementary are equipped for success.” Annually, 20,000 students and 1,200 teachers are supported through the Enchanted Backpack Mobile Van Delivery program. In addition, through partnerships with outstanding teachers and administrators, Enchanted Backpack provides deeper community impact to qualifying schools through its Adopt-A-School, Pay It Forward, Teacher Appreciation and Washer/Dryer programs. “We are so incredibly grateful to have the support of Bill and Debbie Flesch," said Carol Lavin Bernick, founder of Enchanted Backpack. "Their generous gift to Enchanted Backpack highlights both their deep commitment and ours to education and to empowering students with the resources they need to succeed.
