50th Anniversary Operation USO Care Package
To mark its 50th anniversary as a leader in business systems and support, the family-owned Gordon Flesch Company has teamed up with Operation USO Care Package to support armed forces personnel serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. During its golden anniversary year, the company has pledged $100,000 in support for the care package program.
Operation USO Care Package was created in 2001 to replace the Department of Defense practice of forwarding mail and packages to "any service member" from anonymous individuals. The USO effort provides frequently requested items such as prepaid international phone cards, disposable cameras, toiletries, sunscreen, snacks, and messages of support from the American public to deployed troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as other overseas locations.
"We are proud of the ongoing contributions we are able to make not only to our local communities, but also to an outstanding national program supporting such a deserving group of men and women. Supporting the Operation USO Care Package program is yet another opportunity to demonstrate the Gordon Flesch Company's strong commitment to service," said President and CEO Tom Flesch.
"The support from the Gordon Flesch Company will help the USO make a difference in the lives of our men and women in uniform. We are grateful for their support," said USO president and CEO Edward A. Powell.
