Soldiers' Angels
Soldiers' Angels is a volunteer-led non-profit with over 200,000 volunteers. The national organization coordinates over 30 different programs that support all branches of the US Armed Forces; currently, 90% of the troops aided by the Angels are serving in Iraq or Afghanistan.
An officer, chaplain, or medical staff will often recommend a soldier for one of the many programs available through Soldiers' Angels that help to support the troops, often because of low morale, lack of family support, or during recovery from injuries sustained while serving. A new program for soldiers with hand injuries provides voice-activated laptops so the soldier has the means to maintain communications and much-needed connections while recovering from injuries.
The award of $2,500 will assist with the purchase of voice-activated laptops for local soldiers recovering from injuries that require the use of this technology.
