The Rape Crisis Center

The Rape Crisis Center is committed to working with the Dane County community to eliminate sexual violence and victimization, and to enhance self-determination by providing a supportive, healing environment for those affected by the issue of sexual violence. Since 1973, the Rape Crisis Center (RCC) has provided services to the survivors (and their family and friends) of all forms of sexual violence, including recent sexual assault, past sexual assault, incest (past or present), sexual harassment, and sexual exploitation. RCC serves women, children, and men. Their services are provided free of charge and include crisis intervention and support (24 hour Crisis Line and on-call Advocate/Counselors) short-term counseling, support groups, therapy groups, medical/legal advocacy and accompaniment, community education, and Chimera Self- Defense.

The Rape Crisis Center works with area high schools with a program called Imagine. This program is a peer education model that offers high school students the opportunity to increase their awareness about sexual violence and gender issues. The Imagine program aims to educate youth so they, in turn, can educate their peers about the issue of sexualized violence.

Our donation of $5000 will be directed to the Imagine program for high school students.
