Tomorrow's Hope
Tomorrow's Hope supports health care facilities in southern Wisconsin that provide research, education and support services for those touched by Alzheimer's, cancer, diabetes, heart disease and other life-limiting diseases. The organization grew from the desire of a group of volunteers who met in 1998 to plan a fundraiser that would have a direct impact on health care services in the communities that support it. Since then, the volunteers and sponsors have raised over $2.6 million through a variety of fundraisers and outright donations. The funds are distributed to eight different organizations that offer multiple programs: Paul P. Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center at UW, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Rainbow Hospice Care for children, Fort Health Care, Alzheimer’s Association of Southeastern Wisconsin, UW-Health Partners Watertown Regional Medical Center, National Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation and Watertown Area Cares Clinic.
GFC associate Kelly Kober is one of the original volunteers. Although she is quite modest about it, the dedication of these volunteers and the track record of this organization is nothing less than incredible. They have raised over two and a half million dollars in ten years with only one paid staff member - and that person was hired just one year ago. Ninety-two percent of funds raised go directly to recipients. It’s probably a safe bet that many GFC families have benefited from the support Tomorrow’s Hope has given to its recipients.
Our donation of $5000 will be directed to the Watertown Area Cares Clinic a, medical clinic that serves the working uninsured, low-income people in the Watertown area.
